There will be no indictment in the Keith Lamont Scott shooting on September 20th. Protests are planned for 6:30pm at CMPD headquarters. Pre-protest staging 1pm at 1609 E. Fifth Street.

District Attorney, R. Andrew Murphy, laid out the facts surrounding the shooting and said it was a unanimous decision of his team that this case does not warrant an indictment against the officer. During the conference, Attorney Murphy also played a video showing Mr. Scott had a gun holster strapped to his right ankle. This video was captured at a convenience store just before the shooting. Mr. Murphy also played police radio traffic indicating that the officers saw Mr. Lamont in possession of a gun prior to the shooting.

More details will be made available on the District Attorney’s website. https://www.charmeckda.com/

We will continue to monitor developments and location of any protests. Please pray.
